Reverend Entertainment studio has been busy this fall, and as we head into the holiday season here is a refresher on recently released titles, magazines, podcasts, and other activity. For starters I am very excited about my new adventures in audiobook narration, and have signed on for two books already. More on that soon! Let’s catch up on all the latest everywhere else…
VIDEO
– Mike Flanagan’s HUSH has finally made the leap onto physical media courtesy of an expansive 4k/Blu set from Shout! Studios, jam-packed with new Reverend Entertainment special features, an alternate cut of the film, and more.
– Umbrella Entertainment out of Australia has been absolutely killing it lately with their beautiful boxed set releases, and Reverend Entertainment was fortunate enough to tackle their Full Moon Fright Box Vol 1, loading their DOLLMAN, DEMONIC TOYS, DOLLMAN VS. DEMONIC TOYS, and DEMONIC TOYS 2 discs with new bonus material. New commentaries courtesy of the great Nat Brehmer and Ali Chappell, a documentary on the prized Video Zone video magazine, and more.
– Arrow Video has released Sam Raimi’s winter thriller A SIMPLE PLAN on 4k and Blu-ray, complete with new Reverend Entertainment feature.
– Shout! Studios tackled Raimi’s THE GIFT on 4k and Blu as well, also with new Reverend bonus.
PRINT
– The latest Scream Magazine (#87) features part two of my expansive NIGHT OF THE DEMONS series retrospective.
– Rue Morgue #221 includes my interview with Scott Beck and Bryan Woods on their latest HERETIC.
– My Roadside Memories colum continues to roll in TVGuide’s ReMind magazine, the latest (Nov/Dec) spotlighting Ludlow Lagoon in Ludlow, Kentucky.
PODCAST
– All ten episodes of Get Me Another’s FRIDAY THE 13TH series are now available on all pod platforms. This was the first full series I was part of, and cemented my permanent addition to the podcast team along with co-hosts Chris Iannacone and Rob LaMorgese.
– The Justin Beahm Radio Hour continues, with recent episodes including interviews with John Carpenter on HALLOWEEN, an Alice Cooper mega episode sporting three different interviews with Alice as well as input from some of his co-creators, Mike and Jason Leavy from the TERRIFIER film production team, and Thommy Hutson and Mark Alan Miller, creators of DOC OF CHUCKY, now streaming on Shudder.
– I also joined Land of the Creeps for their 400th episode celebration
FILM
– My documentary KUKSI began production in October. The film focus on sculptor Kris Kuksi and his incredible work.
– Concept Media’s Shawn Burkett welcomed me into the cast of his latest MR. BUZZKILL, for which I serve as the voice of a radio DJ and narrator at the end of the film.
PATREON
– The Radio Hour podcast Patreon page launched this month, bringing together a wonderful community of listeners and offering fun perks like having vintage horror magazines mailed to you every month, 4ks and Blu-rays, bonus episodes, and much more.
