Adam Green’s HATCHET films have had a complicated life on physical media, but Umbrella has swooped in to make things right with their 4k/Blu-ray boxed set landing August 26th that is loaded with Reverend Entertainment special features. I went all-in on this one, bringing in new interviews that I have cut into a four-part documentary called Honey Island Horror which features Adam Green, cinematographer Will Barratt, makeup effects artist Robert Pendergraft. producer Sarah Elbert, actors Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris, Parry Shen, Joel David Moore, Laura Ortiz, Derek Mears, Tiffany Shepis, Felissa Rose, Dave Sheridan, and Cody Blue Snyder. Working on another last-minute interview as well. In addition to all the great new intrerviews, you get a 100-page book, a collection of graphic novels, HATCHET on VHS, and lots more. ALSO included is recently unearthed behind-the-scenes footage from the set of HATCHET II that was thought lost (the reason the original making-of relied so heavily on storyboard comparisons). Super exciting, and truly the ultimate HATCHET experience! Pre-orders are open now on Umbrella’s site. Details below.
DESCRIPTION
From Writer/Director Adam Green comes the complete HATCHET collection, a blood-soaked love letter to ‘80s slasher cinema. Across four ferocious chapters, the legend of deformed swamp-dweller Victor Crowley unleashes a relentless storm of carnage deep in Louisiana’s haunted Honey Island Swamp. Each instalment escalates the mayhem, delivering inventive kills and outrageous splatter. From the original swamp massacre to the shocking resurrection of a modern slasher legend in Victor Crowley, the HATCHET collection embraces the spirit of classic ‘80s horror while pushing the limits of on-screen carnage. Savage, hilarious, and unapologetically old-school, this HATCHET collection brings every gruesome kill to your screens in 4k Dolby Vision for the first time.
