THE BIG SKY MONSTER MASH SEPT 25 AT HISTORIC 61 DRIVE-IN, MAQUOKETA IOWA

by | Sep 18, 2021

Reverend Entertainment is proud to team up with Iowa’s historic 61 Drive-In for a frightful double feature under the stars Saturday, September 25th. Located near Maquoketa, Iowa, the 61 is closing it’s 71st year in spooky style with a night of tricks, treats, and screams featuring THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK (1971) and TRICK ‘r TREAT (2007). The event will be hosted by Reverend Entertainment’s Justin Beahm and feature a costume contest, vendors, giveaways, and more!

THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK, Charles B. Pierce’s bigfoot monsterpiece, will be presented in a stunning new high res stabilized restoration never before seen on the big screen. (rating: G)

PLOT SUMMARY
An early 1970’s docudrama about a Sasquatch-type creature that terrorized the small town of Fouke, Arkansas for several years. Many of the persons who claim to have experienced these events actually played themselves in this movie version. The film had a big premiere in Fouke and went on to become a minor drive-in hit, grossing over $20 million domestically and appearing repeatedly on many late-night horror TV slots throughout the rest of the 70s, and spawning two sequels and a remake.

TRICK ‘R TREAT is visionary director Michael Dougherty’s modern Halloween anthology classic making a rare theatrical appearance. (rating: R)

PLOT SUMMARY
Five interwoven stories that occur on the same block, on the same night. A couple finds what happens when they blow a jack o’ lantern out before midnight, a high school principal has a secret life as a serial killer, a college virgin might have met the right guy for her, a group of mean teens play a prank that they take too far, and a hermit is visited by a special trick or treater.

The fun will also include:
– A costume contest (dress your best!)
– Vendors
– Giveaways
– Wandering ghouls and ghosts

Tickets are just $10 per person
