Alternating Currents is a huge FREE music, film, comedy, and art festival in Davenport, Iowa celebrating their 8th year in 2025, taking place August 14-17. As part of the lineup of events I will be presenting my Life and Special Features seminar at Scott Beck and Bryan Woods’ Last Picture House theater on Friday the 15th at 7pm. As described in The Quad Cities Reader, Life and Special Features is, “an inspiring, behind-the-scenes deep dive from filmmaker and preservationist Justin Beahm, who shares his wild journey through documentary filmmaking, journalism, and genre storytelling, blending humor and practical wisdom to encourage audiences to take creative risks.” The presentation will be an hour long with time for Q&A at the end. The full schedule of bands, comedians, films, art exhibitions, and special events is now up on the AC website.
Alternating Currents also has a new app that allows you to explore all their events, locations, and who is appearing where, helping visitors make the most of their experience. With so much happening over four days, it will come in handy!
